McIlroy: Koepka Earns Ryder Cup Spot

Date:

Brooks Koepka has earned a spot on the United States’ Ryder Cup team, according to Rory McIlroy. Koepka won his fifth major title at the PGA Championship earlier this month, leaving him second in the overall US standings for the Ryder Cup team. However, it is unclear whether LIV Golf players will be eligible for Ryder Cup spots due to the ongoing conflict between the PGA Tour and the Saudi-backed LIV Golf circuit. McIlroy, who has been a vocal critic of LIV Golf, believes Koepka should be on the US team. He is also adamant that former European Tour players who have signed for LIV, including Ryder Cup stalwarts such as Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia, should not be eligible for the tournament.
