(CNN)Legendary country singer and songwriter Mac Davis has died at the age of seventy eight.
Davis, who first identified fame creating hits “A Very little A lot less Discussion” and “In The Ghetto” for Elvis Presley, died next coronary heart surgical procedure, his manager, Jim Morey, mentioned in a statement on Tuesday.

Musician Richard Marx led the on the net tributes to Davis, tweeting: “This is these types of a drag. RIP to the outstanding #MacDavis. Thank you for your outstanding music and your kindness to me. It was an honor to listen to you explain to me stories.”
Davis — born Morris Mac Davis — created his debut as a region audio artist with his 1970 album “Track Painter.”
His breakthrough album “Child, You should not Get Hooked On Me” was launched two a long time later.
