Kate Winslet says public scrutiny of her weight prompted her to really feel self-conscious about her personal physique picture as a younger actress, at the same time as she was one of many greatest stars in all the world.

“And it was almost laughable how surprising, how important, how straight-up merciless tabloid journalists have been to me,” Winslet says. “I used to be nonetheless determining who the hell I bloody nicely was! They would touch upon my measurement, they’d estimate what I weighed, they’d print the supposed food regimen I used to be on.”

The British actress went on to open up about regretting appearing in movies directed by Woody Allen and Roman Polanski given their respective scandals. 

“I spotted it was sitting very badly with me,” Winslet says of working with Allen in 2017’s Wonder Wheel. “I shouldn’t have labored with Woody, or Roman [Polanski], and I’ll most likely at all times grapple with these regrets. It’s simply unbelievable to me now that these males have been held in such excessive regard on this trade, and for such a very long time.
