Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman vouches for peace in rare video

Captured Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman wishes for peace between India and Pakistan, revealed in a rare video released on social media. A new video of Varthaman recorded during his captivity in Pakistan has been making waves on social media.

Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman in his statement said that he saw both the countries from the top when he escaped his jet through a parachute. According to Varthaman, both the countries seemed the same hence he could not discern that he landed in Pakistan. The IAF pilot added that he saw both the countries and their people equally beautiful.

Varthaman explained that he suffered heavy injuries and he was unable to move but when he realized he landed in Pakistan, he tried to run but soon an aggressive mob caught him. Meanwhile, two Pakistani soldiers saved him and he was transferred to the nearby Pakistan army unit.

He said Pakistan Army provided him first aid in the unit and then took him to the hospital where he was examined by the doctors. He says since his capture he is experiencing the Pakistan army’s hospitality.

In response to a question, he said that he does not know what is happening to Kashmiri people but he wishes for peace between the two countries. People need to think with calm regarding what is happening in the region.

Varthaman says he found the Pakistani army to be a very fine professional force and very chivalrous. He was very impressed by the chivalry displayed by the Pakistani army and said wars and conflicts happen when there is no peace.

Varthaman said he does not know the right way to peace, nevertheless, there should be peace between both countries. The IAF pilot added that he sees no reason for us to continue with any hostility. The pilot added that he believes both the countries can co-exist in peace.
