India has celebrated its 71st Republic Working day with a parade showing off its armed forces could possibly and cultural range.

The holiday break marks the anniversary of India formally adopting its constitution.

Thousands of persons gathered on a ceremonial boulevard in Delhi to enjoy the vibrant parade amid tight security.

Primary Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the event presented “glimpses of India’s military services and safety prowess” and its numerous cultures.

But the day was also marked by protests above a controversial new citizenship law.

Big crowds greeted Mr Modi as he joined the celebrations in Delhi on Sunday, flanked by safety personnel.
