Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday introduced a ban on import of dwell birds within the nationwide capital and closure of Ghazipur poultry marketplace for the subsequent 10 days in view of chicken flu scare.
Noting that there is no such thing as a confirmed case of avian influenza in Delhi to this point, the chief minister stated samples have been despatched to Jalandhar laboratory. He additionally stated {that a} 24-hour helpline has been arrange for help of individuals.
“In the previous couple of days, there have been a number of circumstances of chicken flu throughout numerous elements of the nation, which is a reason behind fear. Cases of chicken flu have been registered in Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.
“No confirmed case of bird flu has been registered in Delhi until now. We have collected around 104 samples until now, which have been sent to Jalandhar for testing and examination in a laboratory,” the chief minister stated at a press convention.
He stated Delhi is taking a number of steps to regulate the unfold of chicken flu as a precautionary measure.
“Upon receiving the results day after tomorrow, the Delhi government will take all decisions and measures based on the results. The import of live birds is being completely banned from today onwards. Second, the Ghazipur poultry market in Delhi will remain shut for the next 10 days,” Kejriwal added.
He stated the Delhi authorities is following all pointers and instructions issued by the central authorities almost about chicken flu.
“Rapid response groups have been shaped in each district to include the unfold and conduct correct surveillance, and they’ll perform beneath the district magistrates. Our veterinary officers are conducting correct surveys in all chicken markets, wildlife institutions and water our bodies throughout Delhi.
“The special focus of the teams are poultry market Ghazipur, Shakti Sthal Lake, Bhalswa Lake, Sanjay Lake, Delhi Zoo, DDA Parks, situated at Hauz Khas village, Pashchim Vihar and Dwarka,” Kejriwal added.
The chief minister stated that the information of birds dying can be coming from throughout Delhi, and the fast response groups of these districts are conducting enough inspection of the state of affairs.
“A 24×7 helpline – 23890318 – has also been launched,” he added.
