Sonia Shamroz, the first female DPO of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), says her husband helped her prepare for the Central Superior Services Exam (CSS).
In an interview with BBC Urdu, Shamroz opened up about the struggles and societal pressures she faced while preparing and appearing in the examination. She said that she confronted unpleasing comments from people who taunted her for dreaming to join government services while being a woman. But now that she has been appointed as the first female DPO of KP, people come to her with their problems, said Shamroz. They even ask for their daughters to be like her.
Hailing from Abbottabad, the DPO said her father and husband supported her throughout her journey. Her husband is also a CSS office who is serving in the FBR hence she did not feel the need to go to any academy for the preparation.
