Heavy rainfall in Gujarat kills 9, NDRF rescues 30 individuals

As heavy rainfall proceed to wreak havoc in Gujarat, 9 individuals had been killed and nearly 1900 individuals had been shifted to a safer place. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is deployed at a number of locations for the rescue operation.The rainfall has primarily affected the low-lying areas particularly the Saurashtra area, disrupting regular life.
On Monday, the NDRF workforce rescued 30 individuals stranded from the flood-affected areas in Chikali village of Morbi district.They had been later handed over to the district administration.

In 24 hours ending Monday morning, 251 talukas in 33 districts acquired rains, together with seven talukas that acquired over 200 mm rainfall in Jamnagar, Mehsana, Morbi, and Patan districts, it mentioned.
The Met division mentioned Gujarat could be very more likely to obtain an “active wet spell” throughout August 24 and August 25.
It predicted heavy to very heavy rains in remoted locations in Gujarat area on Tuesday and issued an advisory for fishermen in north and south Gujarat coasts until Tuesday.
