The speaker of France’s lower property of parliament states he is determined to go on with his work after he was charged with a conflict of interest for allegedly using gain of his earlier small business position to support his girlfriend.
Richard Ferrand, the president of the Nationwide Assembly and a key ally of French President Emmanuel Macron, denies accomplishing just about anything illegal.
Ferrand was billed by investigating judges Tuesday.
In a statement Thursday, he reported he will protect himself.
The judicial probe, formally opened previous year, adopted reports about Ferrand’s previous organization procedures as head of a Brittany insurance policy enterprise, just before he turned a lawmaker in 2012.
Ferrand stepped down as minister in Macron’s government in 2017 just after the media revelations about his girlfriend had been 1st aired.
