Hamza Ali Abbasi’s sister, Dr.Fazeela Abbasi, received some strong reactions on social media after she announced to sign Turkish actor, Cengiz Coskun for her brand.
Dr. Fazeela posted pictures on her Instagram account signing a contract with Coskun for her brand that is introducing skin care cream for men. Coskun who had played Turgut Alp in the Turkish series, Dirilis Ertugrul, also posted the same picture on his Instagram account.
While sharing the pictures, Dr. Fazeela said, “Announcing the pioneer launch of 1st ever Men’s exclusive Skin Care line in Pakistan & Gulf with @cengizcoskunnn as the face of the DFA brand.”
Coskun also made the announcement on his social media account adding that he will visit Pakistan soon. “Hello everyone, l am excited to announce that l will be endorsing the first-ever Men’s exclusive Skin Care line by @drfazeelaabbasi as a brand ambassador. Jald Mulaqat ho gee (Will see you soon) #pakistan #dubai,” wrote Coskun in the caption of the picture.
While some appreciated the partnership, other social media users strongly reacted to it. They criticized the actor’s sister for hiring the services of the foreign actor while overlooking the highly-talented local artists like Ali Zafar, Atif Aslam, and others.
Some of them said that Pakistani brands should stop hiring Turkish actors as their brand ambassadors.
Nearly all the leading Dirilis Ertugrul stars have been hired by the top Pakistani brands and businesses. Meanwhile, leading actress, Esra Bilgic who played Halime Sultan, in the series has racked up the most brand endorsement deals in Pakistan.
Recently, Pakistan’s ace designer Maria B had shot her upcoming summer collection campaign featuring Pakistani actress Ayeza Khan and Turkish actress, Gulsim Ali from Dirilis Ertugrul.
It seems that even Turkish actors are also enjoying working with the Pakistani brands and getting recognition for their work.
