(Reuters) – FIFA has welcomed a ruling by the Courtroom of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejecting an appeal against the everyday living ban imposed on the previous president of the Afghanistan Soccer Federation (AFF).

Keramuudin Karim was banned from soccer for lifestyle previous June and fined 1 million Swiss francs ($one.07 million) immediately after FIFA’s ethics committee located him responsible of abusing his placement and sexually abusing female players involving 2013-eighteen.

CAS on Tuesday confirmed the choice taken by FIFA and reported that Karim’s offences violated primary human legal rights and harmed the mental and bodily integrity of youthful woman players, destroying their professions and life.

“In a scenario of unprecedented gravity, CAS has verified the great importance of FIFA’s zero tolerance plan from bodily, mental and sexual abuses at all levels of soccer, as nicely as the adequacy of the strongest sanctions in such instances,” FIFA claimed in a statement listed here on Tuesday.

“FIFA commends the bravery of all those victims who, under dreadful own circumstances in their property place, have appear forward and authorized for justice to be served.

“We rely on that their illustration will motivate other victims and survivors of such awful conditions to report them in the future, recognizing that they can rely on FIFA’s guidance at all instances.”
