BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Ten people at an Oklahoma care facility for folks with mental disabilities ended up hospitalized following they have been evidently accidentally injected with what is believed to be insulin instead than flu pictures, authorities explained.

Crisis responders ended up referred to as Wednesday afternoon to the Jacquelyn Home in Bartlesville, about forty miles north of Tulsa, on a report of an unresponsive individual and found “various unresponsive individuals,” Bartlesville Law enforcement Main Tracy Roles reported.

The facility experienced contracted with an experienced pharmacist to administer the influenza vaccine, Roles said, but all acquired injections of what is thought to be insulin rather. Roles stated the pharmacist is cooperating with law enforcement but that investigators believe it was an accident.

The 8 citizens and two staff members have been taken to a Bartlesville clinic, and officials said that all have possibly been introduced or will be before long.

“I’ve in no way observed where by there is certainly been some form of health-related misadventure to this magnitude,” Roles explained. “It could have been even worse. Not to downplay the place we are, but contemplating of where by we could be, it definitely could have been incredibly tragic.”

A similar mishap occurred in September in Indianapolis, when sixteen learners have been mistakenly injected with insulin throughout a tuberculosis skin test.
