BRUSSELS (Reuters) – Turkey has not formally announced a modify to its policy on refugees in its country, the European Commission claimed on Friday, including that it expected Ankara to uphold commitments it produced on controlling flows of migrants to the European Union.

Turkey has dedicated to finish irregular migration flows from Turkey to the EU and be certain improved reception disorders for refugees in Turkey, in exchange for help from the bloc.

“I would like to tension that there was no formal announcement from the Turkish aspect about any improvements in their asylum seeker, refugee or migrant plan,” a spokesman for the EU’s government explained to a news briefing.

“So from our issue of check out the EU-Turkey assertion … still stands and we assume Turkey to uphold its commitments stemming from this statement. The Turkish authorities officially verified there is no adjust in the official policy … we hope that it will keep on to remain so.”
