Two soldiers and a two-calendar year-previous female have been killed in an attack by suspected users of the Abu Sayyaf armed group in the southern Philippines, as the state marked the competition of Eid al-Adha, the armed service claimed on Tuesday.

The soldiers were being travelling on a motorcycle alongside a chaotic street in Talipao town in Sulu province, one,000km south of the funds, Manila, on Monday when the attack took place.

The troopers have been killed in the ambush, although two women – a two-calendar year-old and an 11-yr-outdated – had been wounded, claimed Major Standard Corleto Vinluan Jr, commander of a provincial anti-terrorism task force.

The two-calendar year-outdated died whilst currently being handled in a hospital, even though the eleven-yr-outdated was still in essential issue, he added.

“We deeply condemn this pretty deceitful act of the Abu Sayyaf, who do not in any way symbolize the Islamic way of residing,” claimed Lieutenant Common Cirilito Sobejana, a regional navy commander.

“We would like to prolong our sympathy to the bereaved people of the victims by Sayyaf’s inhumane act,” he additional.

Abu Sayyaf is the most violent Muslim group in the Philippines. It is thought to be allied with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also identified as ISIS) armed network, and has been blamed for some of the worst assaults in the state as nicely as large-profile kidnappings.
